Task 1c - BAPP YouTube video.

Standing in the way of Control.

So this is my BAPP YouTube video. The task was tricky, editing on imovies and trimming the track was quite fiddly. I look forward to hearing what you think?

  1. hi ahmet first off all watched the link you posted on your wall of your andy winehouse! its great so original!i love it! if your ever up in manchester doing it let me know! i think its a great use of web 2.0 for your promotion aswell, since so much is done over email these days instead of in person its great to really have a clear visual of your act.i also looked at your google doc cv i think it has a great layout very straight to the point with allthe clear facts there that an employer would need to see, a small criticism i would have for me personally is that its wrote in the third person, i feel it can make you seem slightly detached. However it does create a much mnore professional c.v so just each to there own really, and finally your bapps youtube video i thought was great! i liked that you combined elements of pictures music and you talking i thought the song matched what you had to say really well! im not very good with the old technology at the momment! haha so can't really give any helpfull criticism with that one, but to me it look like a job well done.

    1. Hi Steph,

Thanks for the positive comments on the Andy Winehouse Promo video. Its often the deal breaker when it comes to an enquiry. People like to really get a taste of what hey are booking, its really helped promote the act. I was using web 2.0 before I even knew it. I'll be sure to give you a shout when Andy pays his next visit to the north.

Its really interesting that you picked up on the statement in my CV. I had a conversation on here about statements in the third person. Yes it comes across cold and removed doesn't it... However, my thinking was that a profile should be more personable and it is protocol to have a CV in the third person. So I stuck to it when I uploaded it in hope that someone might have a view on it.

I look forward to your video...

  2. Hey Ahmet, i think your editing worked really well and your choice of sing definitely reflected the point you were putting across. It was short and sweet and i can totally understood why you choose the BAPP course.

  3. Ahmet, your video was to the point and you are clear about where you wish your career to go. You are obviously confident speaking in front of a camera. I am certainly not. I hope to use more video in my future modules, I need the practice. I like your title, it made me aware how much your life was being controlled by your agents etc. It sounds as if you are ready for this BAPP course. Good job done.

    1. Hi Corinda,

BAPP will give us all an element of control over our careers. I'm finding my new learnt ability to take criticism and reflect on my work beneficial to both my relationships at work and to my practice itself.
